MKTRIO + Future Mailmen

In actuality, the “Trio” performs with as many as six musicians, and, although it’s lineup and repertoire tends to change with the seasons, the group is always comprised of ambitious young musicians with fierce improvisational vocabularies.

The Myles Kelley Trio is an instrumental passion-project of Keyboardist Myles Kelley, from Appleton, ME. Myles is a recent graduate of University of Maine, Orono, where he completed a thesis titled “Bike Ride” of it’s performance) which has become the creative premise behind recent MKtrio performances.

The music is inspired by John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Chick Correa, Tyler Okonma, Thom Yorke, Michiru Oshima, the band BADBADNOTGOOD, Sun Ra, Charles Mingus, Chief Adjuah, and Daniel Johnston. The performance is set to projected visuals which react to the music with intention. This June, the trio will feature Myles Kelley (keyboard), August Duclos (bass), and Owen Markowitz (drums).

Future Mailmen is a collective of potent instrumentalists based out of Portland ME. They express-deliver an array of original music sourced from every member of the band. Future Mailmen has a unique sound that comes from the meshing of their individual personalities, and diverse musical influences. On stage, The Mailmen look like a jazz sextet, but sound somewhere closer to indie rock. Each and every letter from this band is marked with IMPORTANT: DO NOT IGNORE
